Finding Nandrolone in Middle Distance star Shelby’s drug tests results could be blamed on a Burrito bought at a food truck. A sample submitted on December 15th, 2020 to WADA was tested positive for banned Steroid, Nandrolone. What a shame, passing a Polygraph test is not enough to prove your innocence.
Considering Tokyo Olympics are right around the corner, this is a huge set back for Shelby Houlihan. Her Coach Jerry Schumacher released an official statement at Bowerman Track Club’s official website, “Shelby was treated unfairly at every step of this process. The AIU refused to charge her for months, despite no additional evidence being presented, opting to leave her in a provisionally suspended state until they were forced by Shelby’s legal team to charge her and agree to a hearing before the CAS so that Shelby could compete at the Olympic Trials.” Shelby also released her statement on her Instagram saying, “I feel completely devastated, lost, broken, angry, confused and betrayed by the very sport that I’ve loved and poured myself into just to see how good I was”.
The ban will not only affect Shelby for Tokyo 2020 but also restrict her from participating in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
