Olympic Lifting and Track & Field
Vancouver, Canada
A well established African nation in long distance running is an emerging force in 100m sprinting. Two Kenyan sprinters Ferdinand Omanyala and Mark Otieno have clocked 10.02 and 10.05 respectively. As Kenyan Olympic Trials are progressing, the impression is the competition is a World Athletics Championship 2022 not just Kenyan Olympic Trials for Tokyo2020.
Omanyala’s work consists of persistence over the years and defeating odds. The question still remains whether Athletics Kenya would be generous enough to allow Omanyala to repesent the country considering a past doping ban of 2017. However, it is a great feat to achieve 10.02 on home soil.
Omanyala and Otieno qualify for Tokyo2020 running 100m in 10.02 and 10.05 respectively at home soil. Share on X
