Split analysis rationale
Race splits reveal how the performance was built. Two athletes can record the same finish time while using very different pacing patterns. One may run evenly, while another starts too quickly and loses substantial time late.
Why split variation matters
Large variation can indicate surges, pacing errors, fatigue or tactical changes. Small variation normally reflects controlled rhythm, although perfectly even pacing is not required in every championship race.
Why the final segment matters
The last segment shows whether the athlete finished with control or lost momentum. For 800m and 1500m races, the final 200m or 300m can reveal whether the opening pace was sustainable. In longer races, the final kilometre can show whether the athlete retained a finishing reserve.
How to use this analyzer
- Select cumulative or individual segment splits.
- Enter each time using the separate numeric fields.
- Review variation, pacing pattern and final-segment strength.
